The Striders were well represented at the Leinster Indoor Championship, last weekend. Our BU16 squad all competed in the 1500m. After a marvelous cross country season, that included club titles at county, provincial and national level, all four successfully made it out of their heats. In the final Myles was 3rd in 4.23, Eoin was 5th in 4.36, Will making his track debut was 6th in 4.41 and Finn was 8th in 4.49. Well done lads. Great running as usual.Aidan Kehoe had a great weekend, recording two fifth place finishes. Aidan had two PB’s, over 400m in 59 seconds and over 800m in 2.15. Luca O’Connor competed in the Leinster Indoors over the weekend, following a fantastic run in the South Leinster schools on Thursday. On Sunday Luca ran 800m indoors and performed admirably even after his tough cross country exploits. In the same BU15 event, Tomasso Hickey ran a great heat to qualify for the final, where he backed up, with another impressive effort. The BU13’s middle distance event was over 600m, where Max Murphy also put in two fine runs. Max’s first ever run on the indoor surface resulted in a comfortable qualifying finishing spot. In the final Max was equally as impressive, gaining great experience. Adam O’Connor recorded two top ten finishes, also in the Leinster Indoors, over 800m in 2.06 and over 1500m in 4.27. A fine start to the season for Adam. Darragh Flannelly also ran the middle distance double, finishing fourth in the 800M in a time of 2.05 and fifth place in the 1500m event with a time of 4.24. Well done to all.
