National Masters Track & Field Championships, Tullamore, 18-Aug-2018

The Striders finished the Track & Field season off on a high, at the National Masters Championships, held at Tullamore, last Saturday. Aine Cullen, Gavin Kelly and John McGrath all put in great performances to scoop five medals, competing against Ireland’s finest, many of whom were using this event to tune up for the upcoming World Masters Track & Field Championships. Aine continues to lead the way for the Striders in the throwing events, picking up first and third places in the Discus and Shot Put events respectively. Competing in the middle distance events, John finished second in the 1,500m and third in the 800m. Multi event legend, Gavin Kelly, finished second in the Long Jump and fifth in his 400m event. Well done to our senior athletes on finishing the Track & Field season in some style.
