An historic evening for USAC, with Alan O’Connor becoming our latest county champion, in 2018, and the Striders men’s team winning the Wexford Masters Road Race Championships, at Ferns, with a perfect team score of 10 points. Led home by Alan (20.25 mins), the Striders filled the top four places and a well deserved team victory. Joe Lillis took the Silver in 20:37 mins, with Brendan Lyng and John McGrath clocking the same time, 20:43 mins, in third and fourth places. George Delaney, 2018 Wexford Novice road race champion, continued his excellent form, registering a top ten finish. Club stalwart, Sean Murphy, was next Strider home, ahead of Pat Murray, Colin Kearney, John Kent, Thomas Moran, Paul Colfer, Mick O’Gorman, Martin Kehoe, Seamus Kehoe, Colm Stafford, Anthony Sinnott and Emmett Malone.
Earlier in the evening, Beth O’Connor and Aine Walsh were flying the flag for the ladies, with Beth continuing her seasons good form, recording a top ten placing. Go Striders!
