Striders Another virtual challange. Irish Life are running a Virtual Mile race in August. See below for details. Looks like something that would suit the Striders
I hope you’re keeping well.
I just wanted to get in touch to see if you could help share details with your members about the new Irish Life Health Virtual Mile Challenge.
The free virtual challenge is asking people to register, run a mile, and then submit their time between Aug 17th and 23rd. Full details can be found here: eventmaster.ie/event/A4BUjlIlv
There are some super prizes for clubs to win and it’s really easy to enter;
• €500 Joma Sport Voucher for fastest male 4 x 1 mile team
• €500 Joma Sport Voucher for fastest female 4 x 1 mile team
• 4 x €500 Joma Sport Voucher awarded via an open draw for clubs who have 10 or more athletes take part. Prizes will be awarded to clubs within the most active counties so it’s important to have as many members take part as possible.
To enter, you simply need to ask your member to sign up via eventmaster.ie/event/A4BUjlIlv . The relay time is calculated automatically as long as your members include their club name during registration. They do not need to “join a relay team” as the system will automatically pull the fastest 4 times from your club (both male and female).
Times can only be submitted between Aug 17th & Aug 23rd. Details of how to submit a time will be emailed to all registered participants in advance.
It would be great if you could share the attached poster and the note below with your members and on social media;

Welcome back everyone!
We're aware of a huge appetite at the moment within the running community for a road race of any distance to be held.
So we have decided to go ahead with our current race date of Saturday 22nd of August, 2020 @ 7pm in Camross, Co. Wexford.
This is a 5 Mile Road race open to everyone. (Participants to be 18+ in accordance with AAI guidelines). Unfortunately we can not facilitate our 3 Mile Walk this year.
Although we will not be able to extend our full range of hospitality that we are renowned for each year,
United Striders AC as a running club, will make this the best event possible (in accordance with AAI & Government Covid19 guidelines). As runners we understand the importance of giving back to other runners & clubs within our County & across the country. We also have a huge number of volunteers available within our club to facilitate the running of such an event.
We have ample parking, and the course is run along quiet country roads (flat roads!), and we have lots of options of wide road for the start & finish areas, plus single direction warm up & cool down routes.
This is an Athletics Ireland permitted event, and subject to permits and other approvals, full event details will follow shortly.
In the meantime, runners & volunteers alike, please SAVE THE DATE and spread the word. ... See MoreSee Less
