Leinster Juvenile Cross Country Relay Championship, Gowran, 12-Jan-2020

Leinster Athletics and Gowran AC hosted a fantastic Juvenile relay cross country championships, where the Striders were on top form. The course and the conditions were perfect for Winter running. Max Murphy was first Strider in action, leading off the BU14 team, over the 4x500m course. Helped by Eoin Hannan, Sean O’Brien and Ronan Shannon, the boys won a very impressive Silver medal. The GU16 team, were competing in the biggest field of the day and excelled. Ava Leacy led off, Isabel Bawden and Hazel Hickey ran the middle legs, with Aoife Lyng finishing off in style. The final race of interest for the Striders was the BU16 event where we had two teams. The Striders team of Finn Kelly, Aidan Kehoe, Eoin Shannon and Will Park were outstanding and raced to a convincing Gold medal success. Meanwhile the team of Cael Colfer, Tomasso Hickey, Cosmo Hewlett and Caolan Costello were equally as impressive, landing a Bronze medal in the same race. Well done to all our athletes, who competed today and achieved great success at provincial level.
