Taghmon AC Open Cross Country, Camross, 15-Sep-2019

Well done to all the Juvenile and Senior athletes who won the Best Overall Club shield at today’s Taghmon AC Open Cross Country event. The Striders juveniles turned up in big numbers and given that many were competing in their first ever cross country event, they were all fantastic. Max Murphy and Luca O’Connor were both outstanding, winning over their 1km and 1.5km distances respectively. However, today was a real team effort, with all performances counting towards the shield winning effort. So well done to Charlie Flood, Aoife Wall, TJ Murphy, Anna O’Reilly, Katelyn Corish, Maitiu Wall, Finn O’Reilly, Isabella O’Connor, Sarah Lillis, Dylan Galvin, Max Murphy, Luca O’Connor, Ava Leacy, Ben Myers, Isabel Bawden, Hazel Hickey, Aoife Lyng, Robert Wall, Ben Wall and Aisling Ryan.
Our Seniors weren’t too shabby either, with a helping hand from the Junior athletes, who competed in the same races. Over 3km, Beth O’ Connor and Rebecca Bawden were in great form. Aedan Rogers led home the senior mens race, ahead of Adam O’Connor, Evan O’Grady, Alan O’Connor, Pat Murray and Pat O’Callaghan.
Thanks to all athletes and parents who all contributed to a great day out for the Striders.
