The Striders were represented in great numbers, at the Wexford Novice Road Race, held at Rathgarogue. Catherine Ronan led the ladies squad, who included Sandra Young, Aoife Hanrahan, Lettie Myers, Theresa McDonald, Alison Bennett, Anastasia Cash and Stephanie Walsh, to a bronze medal in the team event. A whopping twenty Striders faced the starter for the Mens event. James Boland was in the lead group all the way and was comfortably the leading Strider, finishing a strong fifth place overall. The remainder of the Striders squad, fielding five teams were Paul Curtis, Jamie Cullen, Colin Carney, Pat O’Callaghan, John Hickey, Fabian Flood, Conrad Siborowicz, Thomas Moran, Liam Murphy, Declan Sinnott, Mick O’Gorman, Eddie Murphy, Seamus Kehoe, Martin Kehoe, Bob Crosbie, Eddie McDonald, Emmett Malone, Anthony Sinnott and Mark Curtis.
Well done to all who competed, especially those having their first run for the club in a county event. Thanks to Brendan Lyng and all who helped with course setup and volunteered to help, on race day.
