Leinster Masters Cross Country, Gowran, 13-Jan-2019

Well done to the ten senior Striders who were competing at the Leinster Masters Cross Country championships. With a massive field of 150 or so of Leinsters finest, Joe Lillis was first Strider home, with an impressive top ten placing in his age category. Brendan Lyng led home the remaining Striders, Alan O’Connor, John McGrath, George Delaney, Ted Flannelly, Pat Callahan, Gavin Kelly, Fabian Flood and Matt Flannelly. The entire squad, cheered on by the USAC juveniles, all performed really well over the 6km course, that included a testing long hill which was completed three times. In the club team event, the Striders finished a very commendable fourth place. Ted Flannelly was part of the Wexford team that won gold in the O50’s county team event. Brendan Lyng and John McGrath were rewarded for fine performances with second and third places respectively, in their age categories. A really good days work from our Senior men – well done to all who competed.
