Well done to Aedan Rogers on a great run, last weekend, in the Junior event, at the Autumn Cross Country Festival, held at the National Sports Campus in Abbottstown, Dublin. Aedan came 14th, in what was essentially a national championship for that age group. He recorded a great time of 19.23 for the testing 6km course. This follows on from last weeks great 2nd place in the County Senior cross country event. The good news from Abbottstown continued when it was announced that John McGrath has been selected for the Irish team, to compete in the Home Countries International cross country event, to be held in Swansea later this year. John put in a fantastic effort in his event, which was the final selection stage for the national team and will represent Ireland in the Masters race, competing against teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Having only joined the Striders five years ago, John has made rapid progress and has collected a host of individual and team accolades. All around the club are very proud and thrilled for John, who continues to be a real inspiration.
