The Striders kicked off a great weekend of action, bringing four teams to the national relay championships. With teams having to qualify via their provincial events, having such a large representation at this event is a real achievement and highlights the outstanding work being done by Vance, Nora and team. The BU15 team of Darragh Flannelly, Aidan Shannon, Owen Lennon and Oisin McEochaidh were unlucky in their heat, missing out on a final spot by a fraction of a second. Next up, the BU17 team of Adam O’Connor, Aaron Browne, Patrick Doyle and Cian Flanagan ran a club record time of 1:43 over the 800m, but were just outside the medals. The BU18 team of Nic Walkden, Daniel Wickham, Patrick Doyle and Aaron Browne finished an impressive fifth place in a time of 1:41. Finally the GU19 team posted the best finishing position of the day for the Striders, with a fantastic fourth place finish. Alannah Byrne, Aoife Muldoon, Rebecca Bawden and Grace Costello put in a flawless effort and came up just short of a podium finish. Well done to all who competed, rounding off the most successful ever indoor season for the club.

We got some lovely pics, before training, on Wednesday of the Striders juveniles, with three of the most prestigious trophies to be won, in the south east. We are currently the holders of the Wexford Winter League trophy, the St Senan's best club shield and last week picked up the Ferrybank AC best club shield. Well done to our very talented runners, jumpers, throwers and walkers. With lots of well established clubs in Wexford and neighboring counties, these events take a lot of winning. ...
