Great running from both our senior teams, with the mens team winning a brilliant silver team medal. Led home by the inimitable John McGrath great running from Alan O’Connor, Ted Flannelly, Sean Murphy, Pat Callaghan, Matt Flannelly, John Kent, La La Murphy, Luke Butler and Emmett Malone. Great stuff lads; fourth year in a row for a top three placing in the County Senior. Serious dedication from a small group of lads.
Our ladies team today gave their all, over a good, but testing 5km course. They were just short of a top three team placing coming in 4th position. Huge well done to Sonia Byrne, Beth-Anne O’Connor, Catherine Ronan and Aine Cullen.
It was an historic day for the Striders as we fielded three club teams and won the full gambit of medals – in the individual, club, county and province events. The Striders U13 boys team of Aidan Shannon, Myles Hewlett, Eoin Shannon, Darragh Flannelly, Owen Lennon and Oisin MacEochaigh made history by becoming the first Striders juvenile team to win a national cross country medal in over thirty years. In a great race for our club, Aidan and Myles won individual medals, finishing 4th and 11th respectively. With four scoring in the club event, the boys finished second behind Westport AC. They also helped the Wexford team finish second in the county event, behind Clare. Continue reading

Congratulations to the forty two juvenile athletes, who have put USAC in first position of the Wexford Winter League, after round 1. Maeve Burke, also performing for the first time, ran a great race to earn points for the club. Our first win of the evening came via Sean O’Brien, Continue reading
