Leinster Juvenile Track & Field Championship Day 2 / 3, Tullamore, 18-Jun-2016 / 19-Jun-2016

The older Juvenile Striders were in Track & Field action, at Tullamore over the weekend and all performed very well to record lots of PB’s, win Leinster medals and even record a Leinster record.

Starting with the U14’s, both Eve Byrne and Adam O’Connor, recorded PB’s and won Silver medals in their respective events. Eve continues to go from strength to strength and finished a well deserved second place in the 2Km walk. Likewise Adam came through his heat and finished a strong second in his 800m event. Aaron Browne had a great weekend, showing real versatility to Gold in both the 800m and then another Gold as part of the Wexford 4 X 100m relay team. Cian Flanagan also represented the Striders in the 800m and did really well to record a time that was just outside the medals. Joshua Hewlett not only won the U15 Javelin Gold, but also recorded a Leinster championship record of 49.06m.  Aedan Rogers made the final of his 1500m event and finished a very creditable 5th place. Aoife Muldoon excels in the jump events and deservedly won a Bronze in the Triple Jump and finally Hayleigh Bawden won yet another Leinster medal in the sprint hurdles, this time a Silver in the 400m Hurdles.

Well done to all, on our most successful weekend in the Leinster Track & Field Championships.
