The Juvenile Striders started the year in great form, with 8 teams in action, at the county cross country relay championships, at Coolgreany. Congratulations to the hosting club Croghan, who put on a great show, in the winter sunshine.
County Gold medals went to the BU12 team (Myles Hewlett, Cosmo Hewlett, Finn Kelly & Eoin Shannon), the BU14 team (Aidan Shannon, Darragh Flannelly, Adam O’Connor & Owen Lennon) and the GU16 team (Grace Costello, Rebecca Bawden, Grainne Flannelly & Joanne Kelly). Silver medals were won by the BU10 team (Ronan Shannon, Sam Myers, Liam Murphy & Donnacha McCarthy), the GU12 team (Chloe Berry, Leona Berry, Isabel Bawden & Ruby Murphy) and the BU16 team (Travis Phillips, Conor Murphy, Ryan Kielthy & Patrick Doyle). Our only Broze medal went to our second BU12
team (Sean Lennon, Luca O’Connor, Caolan Costello & Ben Myers). The GU14 team (Louise Doyle, Erinn Shannon, Clodagh Foran & Ciara Murphy) were excellent and finished fourth in a very competitive race. Well done to all athletes who participated and thanks to the coaches for organising the teams.
